I think this is saying that the author will never stop trying. Rivers tend to rush and twist and turn and are never stopping. People say they can't, but they easily prove the haters and doubters wrong. They can do what they set out to do with ease. This is also ironic because Zayn from One Direction, who left months before this song was created and published, was afraid of the dark. They aren't afraid of taking risks and what could hurt them. This says that there isn't a fear of what's out there. That the author (aka One Direction) has a passion for what they are doing, which is entertaining people.
